LAGO Collective is hosting its annual evening of celebrations, during the London Migration Film Festival, in collaboration with Moleskine Foundation and Phaidon Press.
This year, we explore how passports act as gateways to visit, perform, or travel - yet not for everyone.
Visa restrictions create barriers to movement for too many people, in too many countries.
Through music, storytelling, design and textiles, we’ll explore the consequences of visa inequality and how identity and resilience are woven into materials and sounds.
The evening features performances, conversations, an exhibition of photography, followed by an afterparty with resident DJs to celebrate another year of LAGO and our communities.
We will also be screening the short film, 'Stories of Visa Inequality'. Shot in Accra and Kumasi, Ghana, this collaboration between LAGO Collective & Oroko Radio considers the impact of unequal visa regimes on opportunities for creatives and the growth of both local and international creative spaces.
