The cost of rejected visas from African countries was €60M. Given the overall smaller number of applications from Africa, the continent is by far the most affected by the cost of visa rejections.
In the UK the cost of rejected visas increased from £44.7M in 2023 to £50.7M in 2024, a 13.5% increase. Of the £6M difference, £2M is the cost increase for Nigeria alone.
