Content Creator

12 month contract
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE.

LAGO is a growing community of creatives, researchers and policymakers working together to find solutions to global challenges. Our work addresses the most pressing issues of our time, from global migration to urban futures and sustainability.

We are looking for a pro-active, organised, and entrepreneurial new team member with communications and project management expertise, to help drive LAGO’s next stage of growth. The ideal candidate will have relentless curiosity, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communications/digital skills, and thrive in a role where no two days are the same.

This can be a remote or hybrid working role. The post holder must possess the initiative to work independently and manage day-to-day activities with limited supervision.

Tasks

To plan and execute strategic/digital communications for key LAGO initiatives. Specifically:

  • Coordinating delivery of the Africa-Europe Mayors’ Dialogue (MD), including managing stakeholder/partner engagement, coordinating communications with participating cities, and overseeing external communications

  • Producing and promoting events (hybrid/online) that encourage collaborations between the creative industries and research/policy actors/organisations

  • Regular reporting and insights/recommendations on our social channels

  • Managing LAGO’s external content/communications (newsletters, social media, website)

  • Driving social media engagement (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)

  • Managing LAGO’s contact databases/other key administrative operations

Experience: Must possess superb communications, digital, and project management skills, along with the ability to form and nurture meaningful partnerships and collaborations.

Essential

  • 5+ years’ relevant professional experience

  • A self-starter comfortable taking initiative and working independently

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a track record of copy editing and other writing experience

  • Excellent organisational abilities with experience managing multiple projects from ideation to execution

  • Experience of building engaged social communities, managing accounts, and using social media management tools to monitor and report on performance

  • Technical skills and experience of designing and delivering digital campaigns/initiatives/products and website management

  • Some experience of events planning, delivery and promotion

  • Experience building relationships, and supporting meaningful partnerships/collaborations

  • Commitment to LAGO’s values, with a genuine interest in our work and being part of it

  • Fluent in English and French

Desirable

  • Experience working in arts and design, urban issues and/or economic development

  • Based in or around London, to attend ad hoc in-person meetings
